Parents Adam and Debra Leapley saw how exercise benefited their son with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Adam is a deep believer in overall health and wellness and introduced his son to personal training. His son not only made improvements in his fitness, but in his social and emotional well being as well. This sparked an idea in the parents. They created a gym specifically for individuals with ASD. The ASD Fitness center in Orange, CT offers personal training with certified trainers with background in special education as well as a variety of small group classes. Their clients range in disability levels from non-verbal to high functioning. Trainers utilize iPads and other visual aids to communicate with those clients who are non-verbal. Visit the ASD Fitness Center website to learn more.
