National Autistic Society Video Shows What Job Interviews Can Be Like for People With Autism

Job interviews are a stressful event for anybody, however for individuals on the autism spectrum job interviews can create additional challenges. To shed light on this the National Autistic Society created a video to show what the interview process looks like from the eyes of an individual with autism. According to the National Autistic Society only 16% of individuals with autism are employed full-time. Though not everyone wants to be employed it is estimated that 77% of unemployed adults on the spectrum do want to be employed. These individuals are more than capable of employment, but their issues with social skills can cause them to do poorly on interviews. Watch the video that will hopefully make employers think twice before judging a person with autism on an interview alone.
