Netflix Announces New Series, Atypical, About a Teen with Autism

Netflix has picked up a new series called, Atypical, about an 18-year-old boy with autism. Robia Rashid, who is credited with such hits as How I Met Your Mother and Will and Grace, and Academy Award winning producer Seth Gordon, created the show. The series will tell the coming of age story of teen, Sam, who is on the autism spectrum disorder. It will not only focus on his journey of self-discovery, but also give insight into how his journey affects his whole family as they all try to answer the central theme of what does it really mean to be normal. If done right, this show can do wonders for the autism community by giving people a chance to see the stories behind the disorder. Read more about the series here.
