Buzz feed’s 13 Things You Need to Know About Muscular Dystrophy

Nava Silton

Popular social media website, Buzz feed, has posted a list of the 13 things people should know about muscular dystrophy. First, muscular dystrophy or MD is an umbrella term. It refers to a range of genetic conditions that cause the muscles to gradually weaken. However, as the second point mentions, the main symptoms are similar, with people having trouble completing daily tasks. Many people, but not all, with MD are physically impaired and must use a wheelchair.  Some of the other great points that the article makes is that, there is no such thing as a typical day for these individuals, day to day life requires a lot of planning and that the illness also impacts people mentally. Most importantly though, just like all the other people we write about, these individuals are just trying to live a normal life. Check out the full list here
