New Apartment Complex in Albany, NY to Combine Housing and Services for Young Adults with Autism

For parents of individuals with autism, it is hard to imagine their children being able to live a normal adulthood- independent from their parents. A housing project in Albany, NY is making an independent adulthood a reality for individuals with Autism. The apartment complex consists of 68 units of living space and a whole first floor dedicated to services. These services include job training and placement offices, a physician to meet the needs of individualson the spectrum and a life skills coach. Rent is going to start at $600 a month. The hope is for the complex to become an integrated community. This housing project can be life-changing for not only the individuals on the spectrum, but for the people who love them,as well.
