Comic Books

Realabilities is a children’s comic book series, that is composed of unique characters, each with a distinct disability.  Each episode presents a social story that heralds a pro-social anti-bullying message to viewers.  Through this multimedia format, episodes of the show serve to enhance the sensitivity and understanding of typically developing children towards children with disabilities. By engaging typically developing students, we hope to foster positive attitudes and behavioral intentions of typical children towards individuals with disabilities.

Realabilities is unique in that it features characters with disabilities as the principle characters and portrays them in a strong light. Very few others stories overtly discuss

- Stop bullying

- Portrayal of Children with Disabilities in the Media

- Literature & Disabilities

- Disabilities

- Realabilities Intervention
