In light of Sesame Streets’ announcement of Julia, the first Muppet with autism, the Huffington Post collected 11 moments throughout Sesame Street history that the show promoted diversity and inclusion. Sesame Street has been on the air for 47 years and over the years they have showcased a range of individuals including a child with Down Syndrome, a child in a wheelchair, adopted children and children of military parents.
